Happy November all! I figured with a new month comes new things: perhaps a make up tutorial?
As always, I start with a primer. The Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer is just alright on my skin. I have found that it makes my face too slick which is always dangerous when you have oily skin.
I usually double up on my under eye concealer because my under eyes are usually quite dark. I used Rimmel Match Perfection and the Brightener Maybelline Instant Age Rewind.
As my foundation, I buffed some L’orèal True Match on. This was the third or fourth time I have used this and I can pretty safely say I am in love. So far, it trumps my Revlon ColorStay foundation for combination/oily skin purely based on consistency and lasting power. It also is a really great match for my skin tone.
For concealer, I am using the Dermablend Ultra Corrective Foundation Creme-Stick. I find it covers my acne the best for longest but it is too thick for my whole face so I use it to conceal. Check out Melanie Murphy’s video on acne coverage with this foundation if you wanna know more.
Finally, onto the main attraction. For this look, I am using mainly the Pixi Mesmerizing Mineral palette in Silver Sky which I am a bit obsessed with. I saw it in their Instagram and fell head over heels with the blue. However, we aren’t using that today.
I prime my eyes with the BH Cosmetics Crystal Waterproof Eye Crayon. I love this thing. It gives any shadow a shimmer boost.
Starting on the outter corner, I patted some of the purple toned shadow.
On the remainder of the lid, I put the light silver colour.
On the inner corner, I added a tiny bit of the shimmery white shadow.
Lastly, through the crease, I put a bit more purple mixed with the dark silver taupe.
To match, I put Annabelle’s Smudge Liner in Armour and a little bit of MAC’s Powerpoint Eye Pencil in Bordeaxline on the water line. I smudged it out slightly with the darker silver from the palette.
My mascara of choice is still Urban Decay Perversion at the moment. It’s still going strong and I use it just about every day.
On to the brows, I use the amazing Annabelle Skinny Brow Liner in Universal Medium. A perfect match.
What shadows have you been loving lately?
