November Haul: Sephora & Jesse’s Girl

As everyone knows, Sephora had their VIB 20% off sale and I, like many other VIBers, did some damage. A few of these things were repurchases, but the rest were things I had never ever tried before. Let’s jump right in!
My first order was before the sale when I noticed there was a fantastic bag of samples, almost all of which were pretty generous. IMG_2565.JPGIMG_2588.PNG source:
I was most excited about the GlamGlow Powermud Duel Cleanse Treatment and both the Cover FX Calming Primer and Benefit Stay Flawless Primer. I have been itching to try the newest GlamGlow masks this year but couldn’t bring myself to purchase them at $76 a piece. Thankfully, I have been able to get samples of each and this one sounds like it may be up my ally!

With this bag, I picked up what I assume is a holiday set of Fresh products. It includes the Fresh Soy Face Cleanser and Fresh Sugar Advanced Lip Therapy. I do really like the Lip Treatments from Fresh but I haven’t tried anything else. This set was around $20 so it was worth a try. The cleanser is much bigger than I expected but I won’t complain! I also, believe it or not, haven’t tried many of Tarte’s products, but their blushes have always intrigued me. This little Pigment of Imagination set was around $12 for a mini stick highlighter and mini blush. Very convenient if you just wanna try them out and so far, they are great! Apparently this little Tarte Duo sold out quickly too, so if you can’t find it, sorry!

Next up, I ordered the one thing that I wanted to get through this whole sale: the GlamGlow SuperMud Clearing Treatment. I adore this stuff. It is pretty expensive for a masque, but it works extremely well for cleaning out your pores and tightening. I also ordered a gift for my fiancé: the Hanae Mori cologne called HiM. She has had this cologne before and loves it. She got it as a gift last December but before the summer came, it was completely gone. I also happen to love the smell which I would describe as light and woodsy and it compliments her SO well. Since it was a gift, I didn’t open it to show the bottle but you can see it on their website. It’s already Out Of Stock at Sephora. With this order, I received 20% off and the little Sephora Tote. Cute but very small.

Order number 3 from Sephora, I decided to order my first luxury lipstick. Well, my first full size luxury lipstick, I should say. The packing on this YSL Rouge Volupté Lipsticks are unreal. The packaging alone was why I wanted this. However, I really started to consider purchasing one when I received the 500 point YSL package that Sephora had a few months ago. It included a YSL lipstick in a beautiful classic red shade and the formula blew me away. I know these are different, but it made me suddenly very interested in the Rouge Volupté Lipsticks. I ordered #9 Pink Caress and it is a little disappointing formula wise. Still totally beautiful though! With this order, I was able to get the 500 point Urban Decay Urban Obsessions limited edition palette and eyeliner. I haven’t tried any Urban Decay shadows (shocking as that may be) so I am really excited to give this a try. The eyeliner I am already in love with thanks to my ipsy bag from a few months back. Again, I received 20% off and the tote bag.

My last Sephora purchase was in store. I had seen a few things online that I was not sure about because of either scent, true colour or consistency. I am really glad I did because the aisle of doom served me well this time around and I picked up something I have wanted to try but never got around to. There was a Wen travel pack with 2 Sweet Almond Mint Cleansing Conditioners and a Sweet Almond Mint Replenishing Treatment. I haven’t used these yet, but I think I will review them once I do. I am a little nervous because my hair doesn’t really respond too well to conditioner in general but I have heard a lot of good things. I also saw a Sephora 5 pack of glitter liners. Not only are they cute, they are for the most part very opaque. Specifically the Aqua colour is stunning. What I was most excited to grab was the latest Viva La Juicy fragrance. I have to admit, I am not a perfume girl and I had never tried any Juicy perfumes before, but by chance I had sprayed this at Shoppers one day. It smelled fantastic. At Sephora, they had a bit of a package which included a smaller spray of Gold Couture plus a full size lipgloss for only $25! Again, I received 20% off of my purchase.

Finally, moving on from Sephora, I also ordered from Jesse’s Girl. Ipsy introduced me to this brand and I have received some awesome products already. Finally, this time around, I decided to check out the website and get a feel for what they had. 2 of the 4 products that ended up in my cart I already had in different colours so I knew I loved them, but the other two I was simply mesmerized by. I bet you can guess which! I love the palette, first off. The colours are very pigmented and autumnal while being a bit unique. Orange and bronze really make my eyes pop so this was a no-brainer for me. This Julie G nail polish I have in Sugar Plum Fairy and it is fierce. Glittery and opaque but also textured and again, very unique. I decided to pick up a second one (pictured) called Rock Candy. This one stood out to me and since the formula is great, I picked it up too! Onto the glosses. They may not be everyone’s taste but I couldn’t not try them. They are surprisingly pigmented and so cool. On the lips, you can use them as a clear gloss or build it up a bit so you have a bit of the colour. The two I bought are Wicked and Tangerine. Something I thought was neat too is that I received little samples of some of their eye dusts! They are really neat colours and I am excited to give them a try!
That’s it (finally!)

Til next time, ttfn x
