Christmas Polish Picks 2014

What is Christmas to you? For me, it is sparkling snow, bright and twinkling lights and a Christmas tree decked out in silver and gold. Whatever the case, I can bet you think of these 3 colours: red, green and gold. I personally have been loving gold everything in 2014 so I am not surprised that in my Christmas nail polish picks, there are 3 different golds (not all of which are OPI, I swear). I should mention to those of you who think blues and silvers are a must, my winter polish picks are coming soon too!
Glitter and shine during this season is a must, so I recommend a gorgeous glitter to top all of your creams this holiday. I am talking about Essie’s Hors D’oeuvres. With its fluent mix of gold shine and silver glitters, this polish can top any colour gorgeously. I personally love it over white and beige, but I bet it looks fantastic over a dark green to make it super Christmasy too.

Another super Christmas glitter is this mini from Starrily very festively named Holly Day (similar here) which I bought earlier in the year. It is an opaque white polish that is very smooth with true red and green glitters. This would be fun to use as an accent nail or for kids too since it is very traditionally Christmas.

Next up is the second gold polish I am really into for Christmas and it’s no surprise! From last years Gwen Holiday Collection 2013 is Music. Love. Angel. Baby. from OPI. It is a very soft gold with a satin finish. It has a very classy look to it but it isn’t your average gold polish. It is also very easy to change up with nail art by adding some red, black or green details.

Gold nail polish number three we have Revlon Brilliant Strength (which is fantastic) in Hypnotize. Unlike the other two, this one is more of a shine than a glitter. It is a totally different sort of gold as you can see in comparison and looks fantastic for the season. It is much more yellow but I love how it looks.

What is Christmas with out a little bit of red polish? Whether you’re thinking of doing some Candy Canes or Santas sleigh, you’ve got to have a red. This is Sally Hansen in Twinkle Twinkle and it is phenomenal. Red is such a bold and classic nail colour but the glitter in this gives it something unique. With micro gold glitters throughout, this is show stopping.

These 5 are amazing colours to showcase your Holiday spirit this year and I couldn’t recommend any of them enough. Which is your fav? Like I said earlier, if you’re a blue polish kinda person like yours truly, my Winter picks are coming soon too!

Til next time, ttfn x

What is your typical Holiday nail polish?
