Try This Pin: Eye Shadows for Brown Eyes

I have seen so many posts about shadows to go with your eye colour but this one is practically spammed on Pinterest. So I thought: why not try 3 different eye looks with these colours? My eye shadow collection knows no bounds but do these colours truly make my eyes pop?

Let’s start with my favourite colour: Purple (or eggplant, as it says). Starting with Too Faced Shadow Insurance all over the lid for some hold and a BH Cosmetics shadow stick in Royalty as a base overtop. Next, packing some pure purple pigment named Urban on top and underneith from in Urban Decay’s Electric palette will intensify the colour and brighten things up a little. To soften the craziness of the look a little bit, I added a blend of a lilac purple to the inner corner of my eye generously from my Jesse’s Girl Tickled Pink palette which will also help to open up my eyes. Lastly some mascara to coat the lashes – I’m using Rimmel Scandaleyes.

I have done something similar with the Metalic Glam tutorial I posted in March, but decided to incorporate some copper in this look. Like the Metalic glam, I use the Too Faced Shadow Insurance all over the lid to make things stick before packing on some L’Oreal Infallable pigment in Hourglass Beige to centre of the lid. Next, adding some copper From the Essence All About Sunrise palette to the inner and outter corner in a pointed shape to extenuate my eye shape. For some depth, I blend some dark brown shadow into the crease. I used my favourite nude palette: the Stila Portrait of a Perfect Eye and chose the shadow in Vintage. Add a coat or two of Rimmel Scandaleyes mascara and these eyes are done!

Blue can sometimes be easy to mess up but I find the best way to wear it is with eye liner. First, some Too Faced Shadow Insurance all over the lid and then this gorgeous blue from BH Cosmetics Cool Matte 88 matte colour palette. I incorporated a bit a blue gold glitter from the palette as well through the crease to deepen things up before adding a Make Up For Ever Pencil liner under the eye and this very blue liquid liner from Chella which died shortly after this tutorial.

So, do brown eyes pop with these colours? These shades are supposed to bring out the gold undertones in an eye but my eyes are quite dark with more of a green undertone than gold, but that doesn’t stop me from wearing all of these funky colours!

Til next time, ttfn x
