Professional Corrector

Everyone has their own concerns when it comes to their skin. “My skin is so dry,” or “My dark circles are horrible,” or “Where did that pimple come from?”. Mom has her own skin problems too and though typically, anyone over 30 wants something antiaging, dull skin, redness and dark circles remain an issue. Perhaps the perfect gift this year is the gift of a flawless finish.

The Lise Watier Portfolio Professional Corrector has 5 different cream colours to help with just about every colour corrective issue. It comes in two shades: a light which I own since I am incredibly pale and dark which has a different selection of colours. In the light colour wheel, there is a green colour corrector for redness and acne or scaring which as you have seen, I use under my foundation constantly.

The yellow-beige next to it can be used for spots or a general concealer though it wont work for everyone. It depends on your skins undertone and your shade, but as a warm, pale girl, I can get away with using it lightly or mixed with ivory especially if I use it before foundation.

The lilac shade helps to brighten the skin. It is like a matte highlighting shade which has a very smooth but bright finish. Typically, I will dab a little onto my forehead, down the nose, on my chin and under the eyes for that extra little light boost that everyone could use!

Next is dark beige which could be used for cream contouring or as a concealer if it works for you. The effect is very natural though it might look a tad bit orange at first. The cream is very blendable and will need to be set with a powder in order to stay in place and stay matte throughout the day.

Lastly, there is an ivory which can be used as an under eye concealer again or if you’re quite pale, it works as a concealer. It works as both for me and I use it over my foundation in the same areas as the lavender shade.

From left to right: Green, Yellow-Beige, Lilac, Dark Beige, Ivory.

As you can see, this is an all-in-one product when it comes to concealing, contouring and colour correcting. What more could you ask for? The consistency is very creamy and smooth to apply too which makes the experience all the more enjoyable. All you have to do is warm it up a little bit with either your clean finger or a concealer brush and apply before foundation (for the colour correcting colours such as green or lavender). For the skin-tone beiges, it is more effective to apply them over your foundation so you don’t overload the product or buff the concealer off.

If you’re looking to use it as a cream contouring kit, this product would work for you as well with its strong pigmentation and blendability. The finish will be much more natural than many out on the market now.

The only con I can come up with for this product is that it does cause some issues for dry areas of the face and large pores. If that is an issue for you or your mother, it can be helped by using a moisturizer and primer before application which is always a good practise! It is also on the higher end for the price but it’s worth every penny. Available for around $30 CDN at Shoppers or online!

Til next time, ttfn x
