Time To Detox

While at Shoppers (likely buying one of the products from my latest haul), I received 3 samples of the Vichy Normaderm Night Detox cream. I very obviously have acne and acne scarring and every time I buy something at Shoppers, I seem to get a bunch of sample products for it. It just so happens that I was looking for a new night time moisturizer since the one I currently have is intended for day time use with SPF in it. Before this, I don’t think I have ever really used a night time treatment (that has worked) with the exception of spot acne gels. Everything I’ve tried before has been either non-specific or has SPF in it.

However, since I had three of these anyway, my fiancé and I both tried a package of this one night and woke up with fantastic feeling skin – and our skin types are essentially opposites. She is dry, I am oily. I am acne prone, with scarring, she is not. I read up on this product – truthfully, to find out the price – and discovered it is meant to help reduce oil production, smooth imperfections, tighten pores and all the other fun stuff. What mama wouldn’t want that? It came out to about $29 at Shoppers when I went next so I picked it up.

This is a lightweight moisturizer with a fresh scent that I have been wearing every night. I love Vichy for skin care because it works which is the most important thing when you’re dishing out a bit more for less product. There are 40mL in this tube but it feels like I am going through it FAST.

What I have noticed is that it greatly reduces my acne while giving my oily skin some hydration. Once applied, it sinks into your skin and feels a bit like a gel. It doesn’t make my face feel greasy or grimy like many moisturizers and believe me, that is not a feeling you want first thing in the morning. I notice a huge difference in my skins irritation when I miss a night which I think says a lot about it.

Overall, I think this is a game changer in my skin care routine. I have been using it long enough that I know I love it and will continue to do so. I am consistently surprised when I wake up to fantastic feeling skin and it is absolutely because of this stuff!
