Today is a first! Though I have done a few one brand tutorials before, this tutorial is in collaboration with the always amazing Natalie from Ivory Avenue! I reached out to her out of pure love for her blog and style and humor and together, we have created two different dramatic looks using only L’Oreal products! I hope you love them as much as I do!
As always, I start with a primer and this is an old fave. This is the L’Oreal Magic Lumi Light Infusing Primer. This is obviously very brightening which I adore and goes well with the foundation I am using. As you might have guessed, I have the L’Oreal True Match foundation in W2 (though I think W1 would work a little better for my pale skin). I applied it with a dense angled brush that I found on Amazon forever ago and have been using for years now. I love these two and use them all the time.
Next is potentially my new favourite concealer. This is the L’Oreal True Match concealer in fair/light (W1-2-3) which I used with this amazing Ecotools Eye Perfecting brush. To set my entire face including the under eye, I used the L’Oreal True Match powder in W1 with again the Ecotools Eye Perfection brush and the Ecotools Powder brush.
I did not have a coloured eyebrow product from L’Oreal so I used this Brow Stylist Plumper brow gel in translucent. I also wanted to finish up the face so I picked up this L’Oreal True Match blush in C1 on this Real Techniques blush brush which I haven’t really gotten the hang of yet. I didn’t have a L’Oreal highlight (and frankly, I have only heard bad things about their new ones) so I used this eyeshadow. This is the L’Oreal Infallible pigment in the shade Hourglass Beige on a small blush brush from Sephora. It didn’t give me the effect I wanted but I still love how the foundation worked out.
For the eyes, I used this quad from L’Oreal in Army Brat and the MAC 239 and a Sephora eyeshadow blending brush. I took the cream colour all over the lid as a base, then the grey colour into the crease. To darken the outer corner, I took the green shimmer shade and topped the lid off with the gold colour. It’s darker than I usually go for but I think it turned out quite lovely.
For mascara, I used the L’Oreal Voluminous Miss Manga and I really do not like this mascara. It doesn’t look too bad I suppose but it was hard to work with because the wand is so strange and flimsy. It doesn’t give me much length, my lashes kind of clump together and it goes everywhere. Ugh, it was so frustrating.
Onto a product I do love from L’Oreal, I have the L’Oreal Colour Riche Natural lipstick in 235 Nude and the L’Oreal Colour Riche Lipstick in Golden Splendor in the centre for an extra little pop.
A big thanks to Natalie for doing this little post with me! She created a dramatic lip look featuring L’Oreal and it turned out beautifully! Find her look here. If you liked seeing what brushes I used for each look, let me know!
Til next time, ttfn x
