#MOTD: Baked Orchid

It’s time for a quick and easy #MOTD post! I threw this look together in about 20 minutes using products I haven’t used in a while or ever before or products I am trying to use up (#Finish5 products for example) and thought you might be interested.
Always start with a primer and this one is what I have been reaching for lately. This is the Smashbox Photo Finish primer. It really helps with the pore problems I have now that I have my oily skin under control. I wanted to throw on some concealer next to minimize some unwanted redness and dark spots and I prefer a thick concealer for this. I used the Maybelline Coverstick in the green shade around my mouth and nose, then the Covergirl Trublend Fixstick in Light under my eyes. I blended everything out with the Benefit Hello Flawless foundation in Ivory which has always been a fave.

With the base done, I added some Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in Fair under my eyes to brighten and the Rimmel Stay Matte powder in translucent to set everything. I decided to finish off the rest of my face as well so I took the Make Up For Ever HD blush in 410 on a duofiber brush and applied it all over my cheeks, then the Too Faced Candlelight Glow highlighter on top of the cheek bones. For my lips, I have Annabelle’s Stay Sharp lip liner in Java** underneath the Cailyn Tinted Lip balm in Apple Pink which makes for a super matte lip.

Onto the eyes, I took the Annabelle Brow Show Highlighter and brow duo** to fill in the brows and highlight the brow bone. The highlight seems to settle funny I’ve noticed but I think the overall effect still looks pretty good. I decided to use a cream eyeshadow as a primer today and I went with the Be A Bombshell eye base in Submissive which is really unexpectedly shiny. On top, I used the Cailyn Mineral Eye polish in Orchid all over the lid and to line the under eye with since the applicator is perfect for it. I did a little bit of smudging before applying some of this Urban Decay eyeshadow Duo in Half Baked and Twice Baked. I darkened the crease with Twice Baked and put some of Half Baked in the innercorner. It gave the lid a bit of a mixed metal look that I really liked.

I am really excited because I have just opened my number 1 mascara: the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara. All of the mascaras I had open to try weren’t doing anything for me so I decided to turn to a fave. That separation, length, volume and super black pigment is what makes this amazing. It is wet which I don’t think the majority of people prefer but give it a try. You could love it too.

And here is my finished look for this random friday day! Let me know if you want to see more unthemed looks like this one.

Til next time, ttfn x
