Autumn is here guys, and I can barely contain my excitement. At this time last year, I had my very first round up of fall polish picks which I still love, but I thought it could use a little bit of an update. Though some of these are no longer available, I think the colours can be found in other formulas which will hopefully work just as well. Let’s get to it.
Firstly, I have been really interested in that army green/olive shade that seems to be popping up this year. I pulled out this oldie but goodie from the Sephora by OPI collection in Happy Earth Day. There is a tiny bit of shimmer in this otherwise very dark and bold shade but it isn’t incredibly noticeable.i know it won’t be everyone’s cuppa tea, but I love doing a solid mani with this beautiful polish.
Staying with the bold but beautiful, I have a deep dark purple from OPI which was released last winter in the Nordic collection. This is Valking in a Vinter Vonderland which is very similar to the other beautiful rich purple OPI shades I have seen this year (A Grape Affair from the OPI Coca-Cola Collection for example).
I don’t usually associate blue and fall, but I do love this navy again from OPI in I Saw…U Saw…We Saw…Warsaw around this time of year. It goes very well with all of the seasons shades and will be perfect for the Fall/Winter transition period that I am not looking forward to. It is a solid cream and a regular OPI staple.
Like last year, I included a beautiful dark red, this one being from another winter OPI collection. This is Sing in Colour which is a very deep blood red that can be layer to become almost black. It is perfect for this time of year (and will make a beautiful red for any Halloween look you’re going for as well.)
The final two I have are orange which is one of my favourite colours and is the colour I look forward to wearing the most from Sept to November. From the latest OPI collection (OPI Venice which is flawless), I have It’s a Piazza Cake which is a dark burnt orange shade that is just amazing. I love these types of dark, vibrant colours for the nails to break up the super dark colours that are so typically associated with Autumn (like this plum I talked about earlier this week).
I had to include a glitter in here as well since I am totally obsessed with sparkle and shine. This is Pumpkin Spice from Sinful Colors which is not available in Canada but I was able to get my claws on it. Not only is it a mix of warm orange and yellow gold glitter, it also packs onto the nails really well so you can do full manicures with this is you want. It goes on super thin making it easy to build and easy to wear.
I think my OPI addiction may just be getting worse guys, but I can’t help it. The formula can’t be beat and the colours are simply gorgeous. I also love the names endlessly. For you Halloween-lovers out there, I plan on doing a polish picks completely dedicated to the Halloween so keep two eyes out for that in the next month.
Til next time, ttfn x
