Well, it hasn’t been very long since my last #Finish5 and empties post, but I wanted to start going on a bit more of a regular schedule. I feel like I am going through a lot of product when I do these posts and then look at the drawers of make up I still have to use up. It’s a bit overwhelming. That’s why I like the #Finish5 challenge so much. You get to really focus on using up product without getting overwhelmed. Last month, I picked out 3 full sized products and 2 samples and unfortunately, I haven’t finished any of them.
Slowly but surely, I am seeing more of a dent in the Maybelline Coverstick Corrector Concealer and the Make Up For Ever HD Blush. I also figured out how much of the No7 Beautiful Skin Overnight Revitalizing Eye Balm I have and it’s not much! I feel pretty confident that I will be able to use that up in the next 30 days (as long as I remember to apply it). The Benefit Gimmie Brow still has an undetermined amount left but I use it every day and am disliking it more and more. I find it messy and kind of clumpy – but is that a sign that it’s almost done? Here’s hoping! Product #5 was the Temptu highlighter which does not mesh with the Benefit Hello Flawless foundation so I haven’t really touched it a whole lot. It seems to remove the foundation and make everything patchy.
Onto my empty products, as I said, there isn’t much. Over these 15 days or so, I did finish up a sample of the Benefit Hello Flawless foundation that I had laying around. I figured I would use it up before using my big bottle of it. Of course, I love it and highly recommend for anyone with yellow undertones. I also finished up a perfume sample by Hanae Mori. This was the Pink Butterfly scent which I love and may pick up a roller ball of if it is available.
I am tossing a few nail products: the Wet ‘n’ Wild Nail Polish in Black is so old and I just wasn’t comfortable using it anymore. I did pick up another black Wet ‘n’ Wild polish to replace it from their new collection which I found at the Dollar Store of all places. I am also tossing the L’Oréal step two top coat that came with one of my many L’Oréal nail polishes. This is totally tacky so I had to get rid of it. If anyone has a top coat recommendation, let me know! I am in need of a good one!
I used up a Life Brand Skin Firming Peel-Off face mask which I didn’t think did very much for my skin though it was hydrating and very gentle. I also used up a foil packet of the Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Eye Cream which I didn’t think did a whole lot either but I also don’t have issues around my eye area yet. I also used up the 5th Ave Fashionista make up remover wipes I got from Winners back in July. They were alright and quite cheap, so I will likely pick some more up.
Not sure what to count these Lush products as so they are going in their own little category. I have the Lush Bath Bomb in Dragons Egg which was awesome and much better than the Butterball bomb I had tried initially. It was orange and sparkly and smelled amazing. I also picked up the Shades of Earl Grey Massage bar for Roxy and it smells SO good. Not 100% done, but I was tossing the bag so I figured I would include it in here.
Lastly, two hair products and one isn’t a dry shampoo (insert gasp here). The Marc Anthony Oil of Morocco Argan Oil Hair Spray mini was Roxy’s but I needed to use some for my Irresistible Me Curls and it worked great for hold and shine. I don’t often use hair products so I probably wont be picking any of this up but Roxy does have a big bottle of this hair spray if I ever need it! For the dry shampoo, I have the Batiste dry shampoo in Blush which is my favourite scent, but I will likely be sticking to CO:LAB from now on (sorry Batiste!).
What #Finish5 products will I be using for the month of October? The same 5 as September! I think I can finish (some of) them off in the next 30 days and when I do, I have a whole line up of other products I want to start whittling away at.
Til next time, ttfn x
