Hey all! On Twitter, I asked what brand of mask I should talk about this #MaskMonday and we have a winner! This week is about the Glamglow Youthmud Tinglexfoliate mud mask which is one of the originals in the Glamglow family. It’s likely you’re totally familiar with the company since their masks are some of the best of the best out there in the beauty world. This mask in particular is their anti-aging take on the mud mask which I am starting to get really into as a 23 (almost 24) year old.
First up, I wanna say I didn’t initially care about this product since I felt it did very similar things as the Glamglow Supermud but not as well. I had tried it several years ago now however so despite that, I wanted to give it a second try. For Christmas, I asked for the Glamglow GiftSexy ultimate Anti-Age gift set. My darling fiance Roxanne got it for me this year (I am totally beyond spoiled, I know) so here we are again!
This is an anti-aging and exfoliating mask as the name suggests but it is also a mud mask so it pulls out impurities but can be drying to some skin types. As I said before, I thought this worked similarly to the Supermud mask (before and after pictures here) which is my holy grail favourite, but this Youth Mud does something the original doesn’t: exfoliates. Both masks pull out dirt and oil from the pores, tightens the skin, and tends to tighten and tingle as it dries. The added exfoliating particles in this anti-aging mask are quite rough on the skin but produce amazing results as they are washed off after 15 minutes of dry time.
I think because of how intense the exfoliation is, I wouldn’t use it too often, but it really can’t be beat when it comes to results. The mask transforms your skin. The pores are tighter, the skin is brighter, the face feels phenomenal (thought a hydrating mask may be a good idea to use afterwards) and it lasts for a very good amount of time.
This is a very luxurious mask available at Sephora and it comes in two sizes: .5 oz for $24 Cdn or 1.7 oz for $79 Cdn. Glamglow is very expensive. The price goes up every year it seems and though I love the masks for the most part and feel like its worth it, it is still a pricey product. The bottom line is that they are 100% worth the money and you will not regret it.
Til next time, ttfn x
