The Maybelline the Blushed Nudes eye shadow palette

Hey all! It has been a while since I have done a little swatch and review of my many palettes. In honour of Budget Beauty month over on the Canadian Beauty Blogger network, I thought I would go ahead and review a few of my beautiful but inexpensive shades for you. Let’s get to it!

If you have tried any of the Maybelle eye palettes, you know what the formula is like. It is a little sheer, a little chalky, but overall, I think they make for some beautiful looks. Many people boast (myself included) about how pigmented an eye shadow, blush, lipstick, etc is but that’s not always what you want. A good example would be if you’re using black. You don’t want to pile on an overly pigmented black eye shadow. Between the fall out and how hard it is to blend not to mention how unforgiving the shade is, sometimes your better off using something you have to build. It’s a little more fool-proof.

That being said, each shade here swatched very well with no other product (eye primer, spray, etc) assistance.

Top row, shade 1: a super pale cream pink with a tiny bit of a sheen to it.

Top row, shade 2: a baby pink shade with some sparkle.

Top row, shade 3: a dusty pink with a metallic shine.

Top row, shade 4: a muted baby pink matte shade.

Top row, shade 5: a red bronze metallic.

Top row, shade 6: my favourite, the metallic dark rosey pink shade.

Bottom row, shade 1: paper grey shade with some sparkle.

Bottom row, shade 2: a warm taupe with a bit of a metallic shine.

Bottom row, shade 3: a bronze shade with glitter.

Bottom row, shade 4: a true taupe grey.

Bottom row, shade 5: a medium deep brown.

Bottom row, shade 6: dark brown with red/pink flecks of glitter throughout.

The top row is mainly pink shades where the bottom leans more toward taupes making this a pretty good mix of colours. I will be the first to admit I don’t use this as often as I should simply because I don’t think the beautiful pink shades are what look best on me personally. I think many people fell for how gorgeous the shades look in the pan with both this and the UD Naked 3 palette but don’t actually reach for such rosey shades.

That being said, overall, I do like this palette. It is very likely the only palette I have with this much pink and I do love me some pink. Please let me know if you want to see another look using this palette because I do have a very lovely one in mind (if I do say so myself).

Til next time, ttfn x
